Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Amsterdam seeks a Staff Java Engineer for Merchant Fraud Prevention. You will architect and lead multi-team efforts to detect and prevent fraud at scale, partnering with ML and data platforms while mentoring senior engineers.

You will shape a long-term technical vision, drive architectural consistency across 3 fraud-focused teams, and collaborate with Fraud Ops to translate emerging patterns into platform needs.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in defining technical strategy and architectures.
• Strong experience with real-time processing of merchant transactions.
• Experience collaborating with Data Science/ML teams.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year technical north star for the group and design high-throughput systems.
• Lead with engineering leadership to align long-term investments.
• Shape roadmap with Product and fellow Staff Engineers.
• Establish patterns and quality bars across fraud-focused teams.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster engineering excellence.
• Partner with ML/Data Infra to support fast model deployment.
• Collaborate with Fraud Ops to translate patterns into platform needs.
