Job summary

Adyen is seeking a Staff Java Engineer for the Merchant Fraud Prevention group in Amsterdam. You will be the principal architect, shaping long-term technical vision while leading 2–3 engineering teams to build high-throughput, low-latency systems that detect and prevent evolving fraud vectors at scale.

You will mentor senior ICs and align engineering with business goals. You will partner with ML/Data teams to deploy models, feature stores, and real-time inference, ensuring speed and reliability

Qualifications

• Proven track record in delivering large-scale Java systems.
• Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency platforms.
• Strong architectural thinking and leadership skills.
• Experience with ML/AI components in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year technical roadmap for merchant fraud prevention.
• Lead 2–3 engineering teams through technical architecture and delivery.
