Job summary
Salt is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer for a client in Amsterdam. This freelance SRE II role focuses on building, operating, and improving a Kubernetes-based platform powering our API ecosystem.
You will develop automation, improve reliability, and own production services end-to-end, delivering a secure, scalable API platform and collaborating with engineers to enhance platform capabilities.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Software Engineering.
- Experience operating production Kubernetes environments.
- Strong software engineering and automation skills.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and incident response.
- Experience with distributed systems and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Build, deploy, and operate Kubernetes-based platform services.
- Own production services, including deployments, monitoring, documentation, and operational health.
- Improve platform reliability, observability, scalability, and automation.
- Operate and enhance API platform components such as gateways, service mesh, and supporting infrastructure.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable platform capabilities.
