Job summary

AspenTech is looking for an experienced senior delivery leader to own end-to-end OT software projects for European utilities. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, quality and customer satisfaction, and lead multicultural teams in a matrix organisation.

You will also strengthen the European delivery model, support pre-sales reviews, and ensure robust handovers to support. Fluent English is required and travel across Europe is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering.
• 8+ years managing large-scale software or systems delivery in power utilities.
• Experience leading multicultural technical teams in a matrix organisation.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel across Europe 25–75%.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or IPMA certification a plus.
• Hands-on EMS, SCADA, ADMS or similar control-room systems.
• Dutch or German; another European language is valued.

Responsibilities

The Role

You will own end-to-end delivery of OT software projects for European utilities — from contract handover to formal close. You will be accountable for scope, schedule, budget, quality and customer satisfaction. You will work with senior engineers, customer executives and our sales team, and lead multicultural teams in a matrix organisation. Beyond your own projects, you will help strengthen our European delivery model.

Your Impact

What you’ll do

• Manage risks and issues proactively, with mitigation plans tailored to each project.

• Improve how we deliver Help define and embed the European delivery model and governance standards.
• Remove bottlenecks and share lessons learned across projects.
• Support pre‑sales with proposal, deal and contract reviews, focusing on scope, risk and commercial terms.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years managing complex, large‑scale projects, ideally software or systems delivery in the power utilities sector.
• Solid knowledge of at least two of: generation, transmission, distribution.
• A track record of full P&L accountability for customer projects: budgets, forecasts, milestone billing and change control.
• Experience leading multicultural technical teams in a matrix organisation.
• Confidence with both senior engineers and customer executives; you handle conflict calmly and negotiate well.
• Strong commercial sense and structured problem‑solving.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel across Europe 25–75% of the time, depending on project phase.
• Nice to have Master's degree in a relevant field.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or IPMA certification.
• Hands‑on experience with EMS, SCADA, ADMS or similar control‑room systems.
• Dutch or German; another European language is also valued.
