Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Planner/Scheduler to optimize maintenance and calibration work for a cell therapy biotechnology manufacturing facility. The role may evolve into a dedicated planner or scheduler.

You will plan preventive maintenance, coordinate with external vendors, and ensure compliance and safe operations. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least four years in related maintenance roles, with CMMS experience (Maximo).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years in Clean Utilities Operations/Maintenance or Biopharmaceutical Process Equipment Maintenance.
  • Experience aligning Manufacturing Schedule with the Maintenance Schedule.
  • Experience developing and following up on contracts with outside vendors for maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS, such as Maximo or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Plan all Preventive Maintenance and On Demand Corrective Work Orders prior to scheduling.
  • Serve as point of contact for technical discussions with external vendors.
  • Ensure critical spare parts are purchased and stored securely.
  • Verify safety permits and prepare Job Safety Permits.
  • Liaise with vendors to ensure training, equipment, and PPE meet BMS requirements.
  • Maintain Maximo/CMMS schedules and generate work orders.

Position Summary The purpose of this role is to plan and schedule maintenance and calibration work in order to sustain a cell therapy biotechnology manufacturing facility in an audit-ready, compliant state. In the future, this role may develop in a dedicated planner or scheduler role.

Key Responsibilities
Plan (What and How)
  • Plan all Preventive Maintenance and On Demand Corrective Work Orders prior to being Scheduled to ensure all necessary parts, tools, drawings, and equipment, are available for the F&E Technician/ External Vendor to perform work
  • Point of contact for all technical discussions with external vendors regarding maintenance and calibration work they will complete or have completed on site
  • Point of contact for all vendor Service documents that were not handed over at the time the work was completed
  • Ensure all critical/ required spare parts are purchased and stored in secure location for each system type
  • Verify that all required safety permits are approved and obtained where required
  • Prepares or arranges for any Job Safety Permits such as LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, Roof Access, Fire System Impairment, etc.
  • Liaise with vendors before they start work to ensure their training, equipment, spare parts, PPE etc. is suitable and conforms to BMS requirements
Schedule (Who and When)
  • Maintain the Maximo/ CMMS system to ensure that equipment, instrumentation, maintenance schedules, personnel and spare parts are correctly set up and maintained.
  • Generates planned and unplanned work orders on Maximo/ CMMS & checks work requests on a daily basis
  • Works with vendor to organize and agree dates for vendor visit for Maintenance activities
  • Collects all the information needed to complete the work request, consulting the requestor as needed
  • Create appropriate type of work order based on work request asset criticality
  • Establish Priority of work order based on final scope of work
  • Ensure attachments included in work request are noted in work description
  • Communicates status of WO to the Equipment Owner and appropriate departments
  • Consults with F&E or System Owner to determine the scope of activities needed to accomplish the work request
  • Prioritizes and Schedules the WO based on initial information and current workload of the facility and assign work to appropriate technician
  • Issues Maximo / CMMS reports in a timely manner to agreed recipients
  • Approves and completes work orders on Maximo/ CMMS
Qualifications & Experience
Education

Knowledge of maintenance, operations and engineering generally attained through studies resulting in a bachelor’s in engineering, a related discipline, or its equivalent undefined

Experience
  • A Minimum 4 years’ experience in one of the following fields: Clean Utilities Operations/Maintenance, (Biopharmaceutical) Process Equipment Maintenance, Experience with the alignment of Manufacturing Schedule with the Maintenance Schedule.
  • Experience in developing and following up on contracts with outside vendors in the performance of maintenance activities
  • Working knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as Maximo or similar.
  • Self-motivated, pro-active, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English
