Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) seeks a Space Segment Product Engineer to manage technology and product development for satellite communications. The role involves coordinating with procurement, ARTES programme lines and industry to deliver space segment solutions, while aligning with ESA frameworks and market opportunities.

The successful candidate will bring 4+ years in space segment tech, strong knowledge of satellite architectures, and proven contract management.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering or science with 4 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree with 4 additional years of relevant experience.
• Experience in space segment technology and equipment.
• Direct experience with European/ESA framework and industry advantageous.
• Understanding of satellite communications market dynamics and business planning.
• Strong negotiation and contract/subcontract management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage space segment technology and product development activities for satellite communications.
• Oversee activities with procurement and ARTES programme lines; monitor progress and milestones.
• Review business cases and market assumptions for space segment development.
• Coordinate expert technical support across ESA units to ensure effective initiation and management.
• Report progress, status, and forecasts regularly to leadership.
