Job summary

European Space Agency (ESA) invites university students to join the Mechanical Department – Materials, Environments and Contamination Control Section in Noordwijk, Netherlands.

The internship focuses on developing and applying thermal characterization methods for adhesives and potting materials, using techniques such as TGA, DSC, TMA, DMA and rheometry, within an international team and cutting-edge facilities.

Qualifications

• You must be a university student, preferably in your final or second-to-last year of university course at Master's level.
• You must be able to prove enrollment at your university for the entire duration of the internship.
• Knowledge of materials, physics or chemistry, or vacuum technologies is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Literature research on common relevant materials and familiarisation with TEC-MSE laboratory and instruments.
• Implementation of experimental test campaigns in the TEC-MSE environment.
• Data analysis, uncertainty evaluation and documentation of results.
