Job summary

Wlgroup seeks an experienced enterprise/solution architect for a deliverable-based engagement in defence. You will craft current-state reports and models, then design target architectures and roadmaps.

The role is mostly remote, with on-site work as needed, requiring superb written documents and strong English. You'll bringArchimate and Sparx EA skills, five-plus years in defence projects, and a proven ability to work well in multinational teams while producing long, structured architecture

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent with several years of architecture work.
• At least five years delivering enterprise or solution architecture.
• Defence-domain experience with relevant constraints.
• Proficient in ArchiMate and Sparx EA in daily use.
• Track record of long, structured architecture documents.
• Ability to integrate quickly into a multinational team.
• Fluent business English.

Job description

A multinational defence organisation wants its architecture properly described: where it stands today, where it should get to, and what has to happen in between. This is a deliverable-based engagement, mostly remote, producing the reports and models that later decisions will rest on.

What you would be doing

• Producing the current-state architecture report and the models that go with it.
• Developing the target architecture and its models, grounded in what the organisation actually needs rather than what is fashionable.
• Building the roadmap from one to the other, with the sequencing and dependencies made explicit.
• Writing large structured documents that hold together and can be reviewed by people who were not in the room.
• Working with a multinational team, remotely for most of the engagement, on-site when the work needs a room and a whiteboard.

What you would bring

• A master's degree in computer science, software and systems engineering or similar — or, in its place, several years of progressive expertise in exactly this kind of work.
• At least five years delivering enterprise or solution architecture.
• Several years of that specifically for defence customers, where the constraints are different and the review is harder.
• ArchiMate and Sparx Enterprise Architect in daily use, not as a line on a CV.
• A track record of writing long, structured architecture documents.
• The ability to integrate into a multinational team and be useful in it quickly.
• Fluent business English.
