Job summary

WLG is seeking an architecture consultant to describe current and target architectures for a defence client. You will produce reports and models, develop a roadmap, and author long, structured documents for global stakeholders.

The role is mostly remote with on-site sessions using a whiteboard when required. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in enterprise/solution architecture for defence, proficiency with ArchiMate and Sparx EA, and a strong track record of comprehensive architecture

Qualifications

• A master's degree or equivalent experience in architecture.
• At least five years delivering enterprise or solution architecture.
• Several years of defence-customer architecture experience.
• ArchiMate and Sparx Enterprise Architect in daily use, not CV fluff.
• Proven track record writing long, structured architecture documents.
• Ability to join a multinational team and contribute quickly.
• Fluent business English.

A multinational defence organisation wants its architecture properly described: where it stands today, where it should get to, and what has to happen in between. This is a deliverable‑based engagement, mostly remote, producing the reports and models that later decisions will rest on.

What You Would Be Doing

• Producing the current-state architecture report and the models that go with it.
• Developing the target architecture and its models, grounded in what the organisation actually needs rather than what is fashionable.
• Building the roadmap from one to the other, with the sequencing and dependencies made explicit.
• Writing large structured documents that hold together and can be reviewed by people who were not in the room.
• Working with a multinational team, remotely for most of the engagement, on‑site when the work needs a room and a whiteboard.

What you would bring

• A master's degree in computer science, software and systems engineering or similar — or, in its place, several years of progressive expertise in exactly this kind of work.
• At least five years delivering enterprise or solution architecture.
• Several years of that specifically for defence customers, where the constraints are different and the review is harder.
• ArchiMate and Sparx Enterprise Architect in daily use, not as a line on a CV.
• A track record of writing long, structured architecture documents.
• The ability to integrate into a multinational team and be useful in it quickly.
• Fluent business English.
