We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect who can bridge business, technology and delivery. You will assess how these emerging products can be supported within Rabobank’s existing Markets infrastructure and help shape the target architecture, operating model and roadmap for the future.
With Murex expected to play a central role, you will assess its suitability for Environmental Commodities, identify functional and technical gaps, and evaluate alternative solutions where appropriate. Your work will turn a strategic ambition into clear options, investment decisions and an actionable delivery roadmap.
This is a strategic role at the intersection of sustainability, financial markets, technology and innovation. You will work closely with colleagues across Markets, Risk, Finance, Operations, Data and Technology.
Responsibilities
In the first phase, you will help establish a clear understanding of the capabilities required to support Environmental Commodities across the full lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing the feasibility and viability of integrating Environmental Commodities into Rabobank’s existing Markets infrastructure.
- Mapping end-to-end business, technology, data and operational capabilities required to support products such as GOOs, biomethane certificates and other environmental instruments.
- Translating product characteristics and business requirements into implications for trading, risk, finance, operations, data, controls and technology.
- Performing a structured fit-gap assessment of Murex, identifying what can be supported through standard functionality, configuration or integration and where additional capabilities may be required.
- Evaluating alternative technology and platform options where Murex is not the optimal solution.
- Defining the target architecture and integration approach together with enterprise, solution and domain architects, platform owners and technology stakeholders.
- Developing a pragmatic roadmap covering investment needs, budget implications, delivery dependencies, timelines, milestones and required capabilities.
- Facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders and bringing different business and technology perspectives together.
- Making architectural options, trade-offs, risks and recommendations clear and transparent for decision-makers.
- Turning ambiguity and evolving requirements into structured analysis, clear recommendations and actionable next steps.
Your impact
- The capabilities required to operate in Environmental Commodity Markets.
- The role Murex should play within the target landscape.
- The gaps and limitations that need to be addressed.
- The required integration, data and operational architecture.
- Alternative solution options and their respective benefits, costs and risks.
- The investments, capabilities and resources required.
- A practical roadmap from strategic decision to implementation.
Qualifications
You are an experienced Solution Architect who combines structured analysis, business understanding and technology expertise. You are comfortable operating in complex environments where the product, process and technology landscape is still evolving.
You can move comfortably between strategic discussions with senior stakeholders and detailed conversations with architects, engineers, platform owners and operational teams. You know how to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions and turn complex problems into clear options and decisions.
You bring
- Experience as a Solution Architect in financial markets, commodities, treasury, trading, risk, finance, operations or another complex regulated environment.
- Proven experience assessing the feasibility and viability of new products or business capabilities and translating them into process, system, data and operating-model requirements.
- Strong ability to perform fit-gap assessments and turn complex architecture questions into clear options, recommendations, risks and trade-offs.
- Experience defining target architectures and integration approaches across multiple business and technology domains.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working across business, technology and operations.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to create concise presentations, decision papers, architecture proposals and roadmap deliverables.
It is an advantage if you have
- Experience with Murex or comparable trading and financial markets platforms.
- Knowledge of Environmental Commodities, such as Voluntary Carbon Credits, Guarantees of Origin, biomethane certificates or related instruments.
- Experience with Markets infrastructure, trading platform integration and front-to-back processes.
- Experience with target operating model design, capability mapping or enterprise architecture.
- A background in regulated financial services, including familiarity with risk, finance, controls and operational requirements.
- Experience shaping early-stage strategic initiatives where the outcome is an investment decision, target architecture and roadmap rather than an immediate implementation.
