For a major financial services organisation, we are looking for a Solution Architect Data Marketplace to shape the architecture behind its Data Marketplace and Data Catalog. You will turn business needs into secure, scalable solutions and give delivery teams a clear direction for building them.

You will own the architectural vision and roadmap for capabilities that make trusted data accessible across the organisation. Working closely with product management, engineering, data governance and business stakeholders, you will connect long-term ambitions with practical delivery decisions.

Your scope includes data discovery, access requests and exploring how AI can responsibly improve search, recommendations and automation. You will assess new technologies through structured research and proofs of concept, using evidence to guide investment and design choices.

What you will do

• Define and develop target architectures and roadmaps for the Data Marketplace and Data Catalog.
• Translate business and product requirements into end-to-end solution designs.
• Guide engineers through architectural decisions and help teams strengthen their architectural expertise.
• Evaluate technologies and platform capabilities, making benefits, limitations and trade-offs clear.
• Address architectural risks, dependencies and technical debt while keeping delivery moving.
• Embed security, privacy, compliance and technology-risk requirements throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Align stakeholders across business, engineering, governance and architecture.

What you bring

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect, or equivalent architectural responsibility, within a complex enterprise environment.
• A track record of designing end-to-end solutions, target architectures and roadmaps.
• Experience with data marketplace or data catalogue platforms, preferably Collibra.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence decisions across technical and business teams.
• Clear communication, with the ability to explain complex decisions to different audiences.
• A practical approach to architecture: you can challenge assumptions, work through ambiguity and balance future needs with immediate priorities.

This role gives you ownership of architectural decisions that influence how teams across a large organisation discover and use data, with direct involvement in both strategy and implementation.
