Job summary

AgXeed is seeking an Embedded Systems Software Engineer to develop, improve and maintain the embedded software powering our autonomous agricultural machines. Your work will directly impact performance, reliability and quality in the field.

In an agile team, you will design modular components, integrate with sensors and actuators, and help grow our hardware‑software stack. A bachelor’s or master’s degree and hands‑on experience in embedded software, hardware integration and IoT data are valued;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Professional experience in embedded software development.
• Knowledge of electronic systems, protocols and hardware integration.
• Familiarity with IoT data, localization and positioning systems.
• Hands-on mindset with prototype electronics and field testing.
• Analytical, solution‑oriented, and quality focused.
• Good Dutch and English communication; able to work at least 32 hours per week.

• Optimize existing and new software for performance, reliability, and maintainability
• Identify and solve technical challenges within embedded systems

What will you do as an Embedded Systems Software Engineer at AgXeed?

Your key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement modular software components for embedded controllers
• Contribute to the further development and improvement of our embedded software architecture

• Ensure high code quality through structured and maintainable software development

What are we looking for?

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s level of thinking and working, gained through education or relevant professional experience, for example in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• You have professional experience in embedded software development, including designing and maintaining modular software, and you are comfortable working in an agile development environment.
• You have knowledge of electronic systems, communication protocols, hardware integration, and control systems.
• You are familiar with technologies such as combustion engines, hydraulic actuators, sensors, electric drive systems, and related components.
• You have knowledge of IoT and telemetry data and experience with localization and positioning systems.
• You have an affinity with agricultural machinery and a hands‑on mindset: you enjoy combining software development with practical work, such as building prototype electronics and supporting field testing.
• You are analytical and solution-oriented, work accurately with a strong focus on quality, and enjoy collaborating, sharing knowledge, and finding creative solutions.
• You communicate well in Dutch and English and are available to work at least 32 hours per week.
