Job summary

Siemens Software in Rotterdam is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help shape the future of Generative AI by building tools, frameworks, and services for developers to create powerful GenAI solutions.

You will work on tooling, evaluations, and access strategies for LLM providers, directly impacting GenAI offerings and accelerating the development of high-quality applications.

In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing the tools, frameworks, and services that empower developers to create powerful solutions using Generative AI. Your work will span everything from tooling and evaluations to building solutions for accessing Large Language Model (LLM) providers. You'll directly influence the quality of our GenAI offerings and, in turn, enhance the lives of our customers and developers. You're the Engineer We're Looking For If You Have:

• Strong Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python or TypeScript, with a keen interest in frameworks and backend solutions.
• Operational Expertise: Experience in an operations role, preferably with hands‑on experience in AWS and Kubernetes (K8s).
• Generative AI Knowledge: A genuine interest in and demonstrated knowledge of the modern AI landscape, including but not limited to Context Engineering, the full RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) lifecycle, and best MLOps practices.
• Passion for Technology: A deep passion for technology, coupled with strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Agile Mindset: The ability to break down complex challenges into manageable parts and construct solutions with short, iterative feedback cycles.
• Ownership & Collaboration: A strong sense of ownership over your work, a commitment to helping your team succeed, and a love for thriving in a collaborative environment where teamwork is celebrated.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is €75,000- €90,000 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
