Job summary

Forescout Technologies in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the Sensor Technologies team. You will implement new capabilities, classify assets, and detect anomalies across networks.

You will manage significant parts of the development lifecycle, from design to delivery and documentation, writing reusable, testable code and collaborating with customers and internal teams to ensure robust production software.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of C++ development experience.
• Proficient in Python.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience developing in Linux and containerized apps (Docker).
• Familiar with TCP/IP and networking concepts.
• Experience with CI workflows and tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

What You Will Do

• You’ll be working in the Engineering team as part of our Sensor Technologies team.
• You’ll be responsible for implementing new and improved capabilities in our products to better classify network assets, to detect operational anomalies and potential security threats.
• You’ll be responsible for a significant part of the development lifecycle, from design to delivery and technical documentation. With your technical expertise, you’ll manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• You’ll write reusable, testable, and efficient code.

What You Will Bring To Forescout

• Minimum of 3 years of C++ development experience, with a proven track record of developing performance-critical applications.
• Solid proficiency in Python.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity while maintaining rigorous code review, testing, and engineering ownership of production code.
• Skilled in developing and troubleshooting software in Linux environments, as well as containerized applications using Docker.
• Proven knowledge of TCP/IP and networking concepts.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration workflows and tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers and internal teams in an effective and professional manner.

The following additional skills are a plus:

• Systems security background.
• Secure Development Life Cycle knowledge.
• Microsoft Azure fundamentals knowledge.

Education/Experience:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Fluency in English.
