Job summary

Virtuagym is seeking a Software Engineer to impact the experience of 35+ million end-users, focusing on the Blue Domain and billing/payments features. You’ll contribute to design, implementation, and testing, delivering end-to-end features used by real customers.

You’ll work in an agile environment with emphasis on testing, observability, and maintainability, using PHP, Python, Vue.js, NodeJS, and AWS.

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years of professional experience in software development and building, testing, and maintaining software systems with engineering principles (testability, maintainability, observability, reliability).
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience with version control and Git workflows.
• Solid experience with PHP; Python experience is a strong plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features across the billing and payments platform.
• Refine product requirements and contribute to design, implementation, and testing of technical solutions.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; ensure high quality and reliability.
• Design simple, scalable solutions and improve existing architecture with modern best practices.
• Ship features end-to-end from design to production use and monitor production systems.

Job description

• As Software Engineer, you have a direct impact on improving the experience of more than 35+ million end-users
• As a Software Engineer on Blue Domain, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining features across our billing and payments platform
• This includes refining product requirements and being one of the main contributors to the design, implementation, and testing of technical solutions that meet the needs of our customers
• A successful software engineer here has a passion for technology, a strong work ethic, and confidence to work independently as well as part of a team
• You’ll also develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end testing suites for our software
• Designing solutions that are simple, scalable, and actually make sense, not just technically correct
• Building on our existing architecture and levelling it up with current best practices
• Shipping features end-to-end, from technical design through to something real customers use
• Keeping an eye on the production systems your team owns, so issues get caught early, not from a customer complaint
• Writing docs and diagrams your teammates will genuinely reach for later
• Speaking up early: sharing progress, asking questions before you’re stuck, and asking for feedback rather than waiting for it
• Giving code reviews that are honest, kind, and actually useful - the kind you’d want to receive yourself
• Having a real voice in what we build next, through Sprint and Product Backlog planning
• Pairing or mobbing with teammates when two (or more) heads genuinely beat one
• Being someone people can tap on the shoulder for advice, and enjoying that part of the job
