Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is building the INSO Portal, a long-term digital product connecting NGO partners, field teams, and HQ colleagues worldwide. As a Software Engineer, you’ll own from design through production, shaping architecture, reliability, security and UX while keeping systems maintainable.
You’ll work on a product, not a single project, and collaborate with engineers and operations to improve our practices.
What if the software you build became part of the infrastructure people rely on to make informed decisions about safety and security across countries, teams and operating environments?
At INSO(International NGO Safety Organisation), we're building the INSO Portal: a long-term digital product that brings together services, information and tools for NGO partners, field teams and HQ colleagues around the world.
We're looking for a Software Engineer someone who cares about how systems are designed, how they evolve, and what happens after their code reaches production.
From technical design to production and maintenance, you'll take responsibility for the solutions you build. You'll have space to question existing approaches, make thoughtful technical decisions and improve the platform over time.
The INSO Portal is continuously evolving. You'll contribute to its architecture, reliability, security and user experience — balancing new features with the less glamorous, but equally important, work of keeping systems maintainable.
The platform connects people with the information and tools they need to support safety and security decisions. Reliability, data integrity and usability aren't just engineering principles on paper; they matter to the people using the product.
Work closely with other engineers and operational colleagues, challenge assumptions constructively, and help improve our engineering practices as the platform grows.
Our core stack includes:
We're interested in your engineering judgement, not a checklist of tools. If you understand the fundamentals, care about code quality and can explain why you've chosen one approach over another, we want to hear from you.
You’ll bring 3+ years of professional software development experience, a solid grounding in object-oriented programming and software design, and the ability to reason through complex problems.
You’ll also be someone who:

Technology is an essential part of how we connect our services, people and information across this global network.
Fixed‑term, renewable full‑time contract, based in The Hague or remotely.
The right to live and work in the Netherlands is required for the Netherlands‑based option. INSO does not provide transport or pension benefits.
Contract type, terms and benefits will be determined in line with INSO policies.
Candidates must have the legal right to live and work in their country of residence.
INSO is committed to safeguarding and safe recruitment. The selected candidate will undergo the relevant misconduct disclosure checks as part of the final hiring steps.
If you enjoy owning your work, improving systems over time and building technology that supports safety and security across a global network, let's talk.
