Philips Image-Guided Therapy (IGT) Systems R&D in Best, Netherlands is seeking a Sr. Software Design Engineer to advance iApps 3D imaging on the Azurion platform. You’ll work in multi-disciplinary Scrum teams on high-performance, real-time rendering and image-guided therapy solutions.

You will prototype and mature software from de-risking to clinical releases, collaborating with hardware integration teams and external partners in a hybrid on-site setting (3–4 days at R&D facilities).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Core Modern C++ as daily language with large-scale codebases.
• Experience in 3D Rendering, Image Processing, or CV is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Actively write, refactor, and evolve high-performance, modern C++ code for real-time 3D clinical visualization and interventional guidance applications.
• Maintain and enhance rendering engines and visualization pipelines to ensure high-frame-rate, low-latency rendering of imaging data.
• Integrate and optimize algorithms for real-time 2D/3D image processing and data acquisition streams from detectors and cameras.
• De-risk architectural designs and modernize legacy subsystems for modularity across shared software platforms.
• Profile and optimize CPU/GPU bottlenecks and multithreading to meet real-time safety-critical standards.
• Design and build automated unit, integration, and subsystem tests (GoogleTest, Catch2) to enable CI/CD.
