Job summary

Alliance, as part of the JD Engineers group, seeks a Software Commissioning & Support Engineer to configure, commission, and support folder gluers. You will ensure smooth machine operation, provide remote and on-site technical support, and contribute to ongoing automation improvements.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in industrial automation, strong PLC and motion control skills, and experience with Sigmatek, B&R, Siemens, or Rockwell.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (HTS/HBO) relevant to automation.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in industrial automation, commissioning, or field service.
• Strong background in PLC programming and motion control; experience with Sigmatek preferred.
• Able to troubleshoot machines with limited documentation and access.
• Familiarity with Dutch safety standards (NEN3140, VCA-VOL) and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Configure and commission PLC-based motion and control software for folder gluers.
• Integrate and test automation systems including motion control and HMI.
• Provide remote and on-site customer support, solving complex issues under time pressure.
• Diagnose software and hardware issues; inspect cabinets and wiring; fix faults.
• Collaborate with R&D and engineering for modifications and upgrades.
• Train operators and maintenance staff on machine operation and software usage.
• Document commissioning steps and feedback to support continuous improvement.

The Software Commissioning & Support Engineer is responsible for configuring, commissioning, and supporting folder gluers. This role ensures smooth machine operation, provides technical support both remotely and on-site, and contributes to continuous improvement of automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and commission PLC-based motion and control software for folder gluers.
• Integrate and test automation systems including motion control, fast I/O glue systems, machine control, and advanced HMI.
• Provide customer support remotely and on-site, troubleshooting complex issues under time pressure.
• Perform diagnostics on both software and hardware, including opening cabinets, checking wiring, and resolving electrical/mechanical faults.
• Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to implement modifications and upgrades.
• Train operators and maintenance staff on machine operation and software use.
• Document commissioning activities, troubleshooting steps, and customer feedback for continuous improvement.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (HBO/HTS) in Technical Informatics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation.
• Minimum 5–10 years of experience in industrial automation, commissioning, or field service engineering.
• Strong background in PLC programming and motion control. Experience with Sigmatek hardware preferred; knowledge of B&R, Beckhoff, Siemens, or Rockwell also valuable.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting machines without extensive documentation.
• Familiarity with Dutch technical standards (e.g., NEN3140, VCA-VOL) and safety regulations.
