Job summary

Chikara HR in Eindhoven seeks a Software Architect to own the technical direction of a multi-language software platform, connecting teams across the full stack and tackling complex metrology data.

You will lead architecture, HPC solutions, and algorithms for interpretation of measurement data, collaborating with engineers to scale the function as the team grows. A PhD and strong programming skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • 7 to 10 years of professional software development experience with architectural responsibility.
  • 3 to 5 years coordinating technical teams or managing complex software development projects.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and C; LabVIEW experience is an advantage.
  • Proven experience with high-performance computing, parallel processing, or large-scale data processing.
  • Background in semiconductor physics, metrology, measurement technologies, or a related physics-based domain.
  • Familiarity with algorithm development, mathematical modelling, inverse problems, or computational physics.
  • Experience with physics-informed machine learning or deep neural networks applied to physical systems is desirable.
  • PhD in computer science, physics, applied mathematics, or a related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the software architecture across the full stack, ensuring all subsystems integrate effectively into a scalable, coherent platform.
  • Coordinate the work of internal and external development teams, managing deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee high-performance computing solutions designed to process large-scale, complex metrology data.
  • Guide the development and optimisation of algorithms for measurement data interpretation, collaborating with engineers to bring theoretical models into computational reality.
  • Manage external development partners, ensuring their deliverables align with the overall architectural direction.
  • Dive into technical problems at any level of the stack when needed, providing hands-on expertise on the most challenging issues.

Chikara HR is working with a fast-growing advanced semiconductor metrology company based in Eindhoven. Reporting to the Head of Development and Engineering, the Software Architect will own the technical direction of a sophisticated, multi-language software platform, connecting multiple teams working across the full stack and getting hands-on with the most complex technical challenges. As the product scales, the team will grow around this role, offering real scope to shape the function over time.
