Job Description
As Social Director & Team Lead, you are a strategic leader responsible for shaping, leading and scaling our social media capability across key clients and within the agency. In this role, you combine senior strategic consultancy, operational leadership and capability development to drive measurable business growth.
You will manage and develop a team of social media professionals, act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders and set the standard for quality, collaboration and ownership across the team. Working closely with the Head of Social, other Social Directors and wider Capability Directors, you will help drive innovation, integration and growth across the broader media offering.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of social capability strategy across clients, ensuring alignment with media, business and commercial objectives.
- Lead, mentor, coach and develop team members, providing clear direction, growth opportunities and support for high performance.
- Define best practices, improve ways of working and ensure consistently high-quality output across your team.
- Work closely with the Head of Social, Social Directors and Capability Directors to drive integration, efficiency and innovation.
- Act as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for senior client stakeholders on strategy, performance and long-term growth opportunities.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with external partners such as META, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat and other technology or platform partners.
- Identify and drive new opportunities, propositions and initiatives that contribute to client growth and strengthen the agency’s competitive position.
- Oversee campaign execution and performance, ensuring operational excellence, continuous optimization and alignment with strategy.
- Contribute to new business, pitches and onboarding of new clients, including defining ways of working and capability positioning.
- Solve complex, cross-functional challenges independently by applying structured analysis and effective decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Media Studies or a related field is preferred.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in social media, preferably within a media agency environment.
- At least 4 years of direct people management experience, ideally leading teams of up to 10 direct and indirect reports.
- Strong understanding of digital media and performance ecosystems.
- Extensive experience with campaign strategy, execution, measurement and optimization.
- Ability to translate complex digital strategies into clear business language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data and insights into actionable recommendations.
- Empathetic leadership style with a proven track record in talent development, team engagement and professional growth.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across clients, partners and internal teams.
- Proactive, solution-oriented and adaptable mindset, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
