Colt Data Centre Services is seeking a Site Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of a live data centre in the Netherlands. You will manage M&E maintenance providers and security contractors, ensure safety and operational excellence, and engage with customers to support their technical requirements.

The primary responsibility of the Site Operations Manager (SOM) is to oversee the day-to-day operations of a live data centre facility. Reporting directly to the Senior Data Center Operations Manager, the SOM forms part of the on-site Operational Management Team and plays a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility.
The role is responsible for maintaining the continuous operational integrity of all Electrical, Mechanical, Life Safety, Security, and Critical Infrastructure systems and Physical Security across the site This is achieved through the effective management of on-site Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) maintenance providers and Security contractors, ensuring that all infrastructure and security operations are maintained and operated in full compliance with Colt DCS operational standards, policies, and procedures.
In addition, the SOM contributes significantly to the delivery of a best-in-class customer experience. The role requires regular engagement with customers, supporting operational inquiries, facilitating new projects, coordinating planned activities, and providing solutions that help meet their business and technical requirements. The successful candidate will act as a trusted operational partner, ensuring high service standards while driving operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across the facility.
Successful management of a diverse and highly skilled operations team working across all aspects of the Data Centre. This will include safely managing contractors and specialist subcontractors delivering a variety of tasks across the facility. Exceptional customer service delivered at all times, while ensuring no customer incidents or downtime.
The successful candidate will have proven experience working as a Data Centre Technician or Technical Supervisor, with a strong track record of managing specialist contractors within data centre operational environments. A solid technical understanding of electrical, mechanical, and security systems is essential, along with comprehensive knowledge of Permit-to-Work procedures and safe systems of work. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of workplace Health & Safety requirements and best practices.
