The ideal candidate has sailing experience as First Assistant Engineer or Chief Engineer on ocean-going bulk carriers and strong knowledge of marine engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience as First Assistant Engineer (1st Eng) or Chief Engineer on ocean-going bulk carriers.
• Strong knowledge of marine engineering, vessel machinery, and maintenance/repair management.
• Business-level English communication skills; ability to travel within Europe and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical operation of bulk carriers and woodchip carriers.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs of vessel machinery and engine-related equipment.
• Arrange procurement and delivery of spare parts, stores, and vessel supplies.
• Coordinate repairs with shipyards, manufacturers, suppliers, and vessel crews.
• Monitor onboard equipment condition and performance; support safety initiatives.
• Attend vessel inspections, surveys and audits as required.
• Liaise with vessels and stakeholders to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.
• Prepare technical reports and maintenance records.
