Vattenfall is seeking an experienced Service Manager – OT Gateway to own reliable delivery of site-level OT networks and servers at wind parks and assets across Europe. You’ll blend hands-on engineering with technical leadership, manage a dedicated team, and drive improvements while meeting SLAs and coordinating with SCADA and IT partners.
You will shape standardised service delivery, oversee incident response, lifecycle planning and changes, and ensure security and compliance across critical OT
Vattenfall is a leading European energy company driving the transition to a sustainable energy system. We have been electrifying industries, powering homes and transforming life through innovation for more than 100 years. We employ around 21 000 people mostly in our core markets in Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the UK.
Are you an experienced network or server engineer, or a technical infrastructure lead, who wants to remain hands-on while taking responsibility for reliable service delivery? Would you like to combine solving technical problems with guiding colleagues and improving business-critical OT infrastructure supporting renewable energy?
As our new Service Manager – OT Gateway, you will be responsible for the reliable, secure and efficient delivery of site-level OT network and server services supporting Vattenfall’s renewable‑energy operations. Your scope includes the networks, servers, on‑site domain and other assigned site‑based asset systems at our wind parks and other assets within the agreed service scope. These services underpin asset availability, monitoring and control, and operational data availability.
You will combine hands‑on OT infrastructure engineering and incident resolution with functional leadership of a dedicated service team of network and server engineers. Alongside your own technical assignments, you will prioritise the team’s work, coordinate suppliers and support functions, and drive continual improvement while meeting agreed service levels.
Working closely with customers, stakeholders and the Asset Service Area OT O&M Manager, you will help develop standardised, proactive service delivery that combines effective incident response with preventive maintenance, lifecycle planning and long‑term service improvement.
Be in your element with BA Wind
As part of BA Wind you will play a key role in one of the most exciting pipelines in the industry with 24GW of capacity stretching out more than a decade ahead across our key European markets.
You won’t only be involved in developing projects but pioneering cutting‑edge innovation, new business models and ways of working with communities and the environment. Working as part of a leading European utility also means you could be helping a growing number of major businesses and brands achieve their own sustainability goals through partnerships.
Your role
You will take responsibility for the delivery and performance of the services within your agreed scope, from their introduction into operation through ongoing support, improvement and eventual replacement or retirement.
In this role, “OT Gateway” refers to the site‑level OT network and server service, including the on‑site domain and other assigned site‑based asset systems defined in the agreed service mapping. You will take responsibility for their operational support, controlled changes, upgrades, security patching, lifecycle management and continual improvement. You will manage interfaces and dependencies with SCADA, Power Plant Control and adjacent OT and IT services, maintaining clear ownership and support boundaries.
This role combines hands‑on senior network and server infrastructure engineering with functional service leadership and does not include personnel line management. You will personally undertake engineering work within your technical expertise while coordinating and prioritising the service team’s activities, monitoring outcomes and making risks, dependencies and resource needs visible. Capability and capacity requirements will be aligned with the Asset Service Area OT O&M Manager, with resources requested from the respective line managers.
You will apply your practical engineering expertise to diagnose faults, restore services and implement controlled technical changes within your agreed scope and authorisation. You will provide technical guidance to colleagues, assess operational risks and challenge proposed solutions, combining hands‑on delivery with effective planning and coordination across organisational boundaries.
You will participate in the team’s on‑call rotation, personally diagnosing and resolving incidents affecting OT networks, servers and assigned systems and services outside normal working hours, within your agreed technical scope and authorisation. You will involve other engineers, suppliers and application or service owners when specialist support is required, follow agreed escalation arrangements and contribute to root‑cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions.
