Job summary

Nebul is building Europe’s Intelligent Cloud and is expanding its virtualization capabilities. We seek a Senior Virtualization Platform Engineer to design, build and operate the virtualization layer at Nebul’s cloud platform.

You will work at the intersection of Kubernetes, virtual machines and containers, shaping the future of virtualization. Join a hands-on, senior team that leverages KubeVirt, Cloud Hypervisor, KVM and QEMU to push performance, security and data sovereignty.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering or systems engineering.
• Deep technical knowledge of virtualization concepts and technologies.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes architecture and operations.
• Hands-on experience with KubeVirt, KVM, QEMU or comparable virtualization technologies.
• Strong Linux systems-engineering and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code.
• Good understanding of networking, storage and security within virtualized environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate Kubernetes-based virtualization solutions.
• Develop, optimize and maintain our KubeVirt environment.
• Contribute to the development and adoption of Cloud Hypervisor.
• Work with KVM, QEMU, microVMs and container-based virtualization.
• Help design and implement confidential-computing capabilities.
• Evaluate and implement technologies such as Kata Containers.
• Automate the deployment, configuration and lifecycle management of virtualized workloads.
• Improve the performance, scalability, reliability and security of our virtualization platform.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across Kubernetes, Linux, networking, storage and virtualization.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and the technical virtualization roadmap.
• Build monitoring, observability and operational tooling for the platform.
• Establish engineering standards and share specialist knowledge across the organisation.
• Work closely with our Kubernetes, cloud, infrastructure and security engineers.
