Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Test Engineer at our Eindhoven site to take ownership of testing and aligning advanced Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM) in a controlled cleanroom environment. You will assemble and configure TEM modules, integrate them into cabinets, and perform calibration and verification before shipment.

The role is hands-on, involving handling samples, liquid nitrogen, and high-resolution imaging.

Qualifications

• A vocational (MBO-4) or Bachelor's degree (HBO) is required, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related fields.
• Experience with, or a strong interest in, testing electrotechnical systems (e.g. modules, cables, control cabinets), combined with an affinity for working with computers and a hands-on approach.
• Able to follow technical work instructions; experience reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics and technical documentation (TPD) is a plus.
• Experience with or interest in tools/programming (e.g. Python, MATLAB, PLCs) is an advantage.
• Comfortable in a high-tech environment; cleanroom experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a structured way of working.
• Proactive team player with a positive, hands-on mindset, good English communication skills, and adaptability in a diverse environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and configure TEM systems by integrating TEM modules into cabinets, followed by alignment, calibration, and performance verification.
• Handle samples and work in a cleanroom environment, including use of liquid nitrogen and high-resolution imaging.
• Identify and resolve issues, document results, and collaborate with production and engineering colleagues.
• Contribute to delivering reliable, high-precision equipment across product lines (Metrios, Spectra, Krios, Baseline).
