About the job

Based in Brunssum, The Netherlands, you will join the Agency as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Endeavour. You will join CSSC, which provides effective static and deployable Information Communications Technology (ICT) system repair and maintenance as well as ICT Hardware Asset Management (AM) services in support of NATO operations, exercises and training. As the Central Warehouse for ICT Hardware within NATO, CSSC is responsible for the supply activities associated with stock management, procurement, delivery, receipt and through life management of all ICT hardware items. CSSC personnel are located within the central hub in Brunssum as well as the three Forward Support Points at Bydgoszcz, Grazzanise and Wesel.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Senior Technician (Power Generation) who will take on the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Fabricates, modifies and repairs mechanical parts required for NATO equipment;
  • Designs parts to solve mechanical problems;
  • Performs inspections on reliability and safety of mechanical parts;
  • Performs preventative maintenance on mechanical parts;
  • Provides professional expertise to the higher management of NCSA on all aspects of the mobile generators, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and their electrical interconnection;
  • Provision of professional contacts with other NATO organizations;
  • Assists and monitors assigned technical tasks efficiently to ensure that they can be executed and are in line with set target dates.

About you

The valuable knowledge and experience that you bring to this role are:

  • Higher vocational training in Power Generation or Diesel Mechanics or a relevant discipline with 2 years post-related experience; or a secondary educational qualification with 4 years post-related experience;
  • Conversant with the European Electrical safety standards and safety inspections regulations;
  • Experience with Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), power generating systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Experience with metal work (cutting, riveting, forming, bending, milling, turning, grinding, drilling);
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
