Senior SW Engineer (C#) – Yieldstar Wafer Flow

Job summary

ASML in the Netherlands is seeking a Senior SW Engineer to own parts of the Yieldstar Wafer Flow content, improve code quality and documentation within a highly collaborative agile team.

You will collaborate with functional engineers to keep Yieldstar Wafer Flow out of the critical path during integrations, excel in requirement gathering, and drive technically complex solutions with strong ownership and cross-domain alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master degree, 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record in domains similar to Yieldstar Wafer Flow.
• Experience with software development for hardware systems.
• CARM experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Work across multiple teams with functional (mechatronics) and other SW team members.
• Take the lead in interfacing with suppliers, customers, other projects and other engineering disciplines in a less-defined environment (e.g. new supplier, NPI product).
• Participate in cross-sector teams to realize customer solutions (end-customer / sectors in Operations).
• Align on / think of solutions with counterparts from multiple adjacent groups. Collaborate with engineers and architects from other domains, taking the right ownership and use ‘influence without authority’ on stakeholders.
• Understand how own designs fit at subsystem level. The Senior SW Engineer performs critical design engineering tasks, in close collaboration with other disciplines and suppliers, maintains a cross-project-view and assists in project planning and management as well as competency development.
• Introduce and drive new approaches on technical level within submodules. Provide work breakdown support for features/work packages and performance breakdown in own (sub-)module scope. Balance between quality and timely delivery. Advise Cluster Project Leaders, SE and manager on own expertise area.
• Self-propelling approach within own area of expertise, subject to high-level managerial direction.
• Guide and impact the work of peers, typically 1-3 engineers.

As a Senior SW Engineer in our context, you own part of the Yieldstar Wafer Flow content and mature the software by increasing its code quality and its respective documentation. You do so in a highly collaborative, agile team of experienced SW engineers.

You perform close collaboration with the functional engineers to keep YS Wafer Flow out of the critical path during project integrations and perform deep dive cross-functional analyses during integration issues. As Senior SW Engineer, you are extremely sharp on requirement-gathering and management, as the Wafer Flow complexity needs accurate requirements. Cross-functional interests help in aligning and detailing out on requirements. You need to be well-aligned with your context to clarify scope and to get help when and where needed.

The senior SW engineer takes the lead in development of more complex parts of modules AND/OR drives and owns technically complex solutions.

You lead several technically complex designs, owning and delivering solutions with full technical ownership, taking industrialization into account from the start.

Education and experience

• Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent working and thinking level. Thorough relevant experience (8+ years ) and able to technically lead an engineering team and advise management.
• Proven track record in areas with complexities similar to Yieldstar Wafer Flow
• Experience with (developing software for) hardware
• Experience with CARM would be a bonus

Skills

As a Senior SW Engineer you need to be able to design, develop, test and integrate software for ASML’s machines and applications.

You need skills and multi-year experience in the following domains:

• C# (Main requisite)
• SW Design & Architecture
• CI/CD (Preferably Bamboo)
• Machine Control design (Multi process applications, Machine-throughput optimal performance, etc.)
• Debugging (of multi layered systems)
• Near to real time applications
• Testing and qualifying solutions on real hardware
