Job summary

Van Lanschot Kempen is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist Infra Engineer to maintain and improve critical infrastructure, with a focus on Azure services while keeping on-premises systems secure during the transition. You will work in a modern hybrid environment and own technologies in your domain.

You will collaborate with architects, platform engineers, security specialists and application teams to keep infrastructure stable, secure and future-ready, while continually driving automation

We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Specialist Infra Engineer. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving critical infrastructure platforms that support our business operations. The role focuses on our continued move towards Azure infrastructure services, while also ensuring that the remaining on-premises systems are managed securely and reliably during the transition. You will work in a modern hybrid infrastructure environment and take ownership of technologies within your domain.

You will collaborate closely with architects, platform engineers, security specialists and application teams to ensure our infrastructure remains stable, secure, reliable and future ready. In this role, you will not only operate platforms but also continuously improve, automate and modernize them.

Your responsibilities include:

• Manage and maintain enterprise Linux, storage, backup and virtualization platforms.
• Deliver infrastructure improvements, lifecycle management activities and platform upgrades.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure incidents and platform issues.
• Automate operational tasks and improve platform reliability through scripting and tooling.
• Implement monitoring, alerting and operational controls.
• Support disaster recovery, backup and recovery processes.
• Contribute to security, patching and compliance initiatives.
• Collaborate in Agile teams and actively contribute to backlog refinement and sprint activities.
• Contribute to cost-aware and future-focused platform management, including attention to Azure and hybrid environments.
• Take part in on-call duties and work outside regular service windows when needed.

You look beyond day-to-day operations and see where improvements are needed.

You also have:

• Strong experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), AIX, Sybase and AVTware
• Experience with VMware vSphere and ESXi environments.
• Set up and maintain platform management environments to support monitoring, automation and lifecycle management of infrastructure platforms.
• Experience with enterprise storage platforms such as NetApp, HDS Hitachi and NetApp Dell EMC, HPE or similar solutions.
• Experience with Nasuni File Data Platform
• Experience with Commvault backup and recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting and lifecycle management.
• You have an affinity with AI tools and understand how they can support engineering, documentation, testing or management processes.
• Scripting and automation skills using Bash, PowerShell, Python or similar technologies.
• Understanding of security and patch management practices within enterprise environments.
• Good mastery of English, both oral and written.

As an Senior Specialist Infra Engineer you will also be given:

• a gross monthly salary between € 4700 and € 5700 commensurate with your knowledge and experience.
• additional flexible budget of 19.47% of your gross salary (containing a 13th month, 8% holiday allowance & 7 extra legal leave days) You can utilize this by buying a bike, monthly gym membership, but also to save up for a sabbatical! It’s also possible to get the full budget paid out at any moment in the year.
