Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer for the BeneluxGeo team to lead technical engagements and own discovery, solution design, and platform demonstrations. You will work with customers to expand Databricks footprint and build strategic partnerships while collaborating with an Account Executive.

You are a builder who codes, architects, and presents, combining deep technical skills with customer-facing excellence to drive adoption.

Qualifications

• Industry experience in data engineering, solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or a hands-on consulting role (3+ years preferred).
• Proficient in Python and SQL with production-quality code; live coding is an interview stage.
• Hands-on data solutions on at least one public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of distributed data systems such as Spark or Delta Lake.
• Experience leading technical customer conversations and architecture reviews.
• Strong presentation and demo skills and a relevant degree.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and solution design for customer workloads across data engineering, analytics, ML, and GenAI engineering.
• Build and deliver proofs-of-concept and live demos on the Databricks Platform to win technical buy-in.
• Own frontline technical relationships with customer engineers and data teams.
• Develop account-level technical strategies with the Account Executive to grow platform usage.
• Navigate competitive landscapes with hands-on demonstrations and reusable assets.

As a Senior Solutions Engineer in the Benelux Geo team, you will lead technical engagements for high-growth potential customers, owning discovery, solution design, and platform demonstrations. We are looking for a talented engineer/architect who is excited to expand strategic partnerships and grow Databricks footprint with these customers!
You are a builder who can code, architect, and present, combining technical depth with customer-facing skills to drive Databricks adoption. You will own frontline customer relationships and work with your Account Executive to develop technical strategies that expand platform usage.

The Impact You Will Have

• Independently lead technical discovery and solution design for customer workloads spanning Data Engineering, Analytics, Machine Learning, and GenAI Engineering
• Build and deliver compelling proofs-of-concept and live demos on the Databricks Platform that drive technical wins
• Own frontline technical relationships with customer engineers, data teams, and technical leads
• Develop account-level technical strategies in partnership with your Account Executive to grow platform consumption
• Navigate competitive landscapes by articulating Databricks differentiation through hands-on demonstrations
• Contribute reusable technical assets (notebooks, solution accelerators, reference architectures) to the broader SA community

What We Look For

• Industry experience in data engineering, solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or a hands-on consulting role (preference for 3+ years minimum)
• Proficient in Python and SQL with demonstrated ability to debug, optimise, and write production-quality code — live/vibe coding is a required interview stage
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing data solutions on at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Working knowledge of distributed data systems: Apache Spark™, Delta Lake, or equivalent (Hadoop, Kafka, Flink)
• Experience leading technical customer conversations — discovery, whiteboarding, architecture reviewsFamiliarity with one or more: data engineering (ETL/ELT, medallion architecture, streaming), data science/ML (model training, MLOps), or SQL analytics
• Strong presentation and demo skills — you will build and present a live solution during the interview
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, Data Science or a quantitative discipline (or equivalent experience)

Note: This will be an office-based contract (Amsterdam), with a hybrid schedule. The offer contract will be set for an initial 12-month fixed term, with the intention to extend upon successful completion of the probation period.
