Job description

Most frontends control workflows. Yours will control robots.

You'll own the product and UX of the operating system that controls autonomous construction robots. The backend is state-of-the-art (Rust, WebAssembly, real-time control). The product layer has never had a dedicated owner. That's you.

Work directly with the CTO, a technical founder who's been through this before. No handoffs, no bureaucracy. You take a problem from sketch to shipped code, deploy it to operators on live sites, and watch what happens when they use it.

Your users wear hard hats. They're managing multiple robots at once, in dust and noise, with spotty connectivity. Your job is to make complex 3D geometry and multi-robot coordination feel simple. If you get it right, homes get built faster.

Europe faces a housing crisis with 82 million people at risk of homelessness. Your interfaces enable robots to build affordable housing at a speed and scale humans alone can't match.

This role isn't for someone who wants a designer handing them Figma files or a PM writing tickets. You'll drive product decisions yourself.

What you’ll do
  • Design the frontend for multi-robot command and control. Operators need to run teams of robots in real-time, monitor performance, and intervene when something goes wrong. What does the right level of automation look like? That's your call to make.
  • Build ad-hoc visualisations and fleet management tools as the robot fleet doubles in size by year-end.
  • Interface with the Rust robotics backend running on a WebAssembly runtime.
  • Work directly with robot operators, hardware engineers, and control engineers to figure out what's actually broken and fix it fast.
What you’ll need
  • Proven TypeScript and React experience - building complex web applications with idiomatic, production-level code.
  • Zero-to-one product experience - proven track record building prototypes or products from scratch.
  • UX instincts. You can design a usable interface without a designer briefing you.
  • Product-minded engineer. You think about user problems, not just technical solutions. You care about UX, workflows, and making complex things feel simple.
  • Comfortable getting closer to the metal. You'll interface with a Rust/WebAssembly backend and debug where frontend decisions meet robot behaviour. You don't need Rust or deep systems experience on day one, but you're not afraid of it.
  • Full ownership mentality. Take a problem statement, convert it to spec/prototype/design, ship production code, monitor performance, iterate based on feedback. No hand-holding needed.
About the company

A robotics scale-up automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Their mission: make construction primarily software-defined, working towards a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings are built within a single day with minimal labour.

A 100-person team, mostly engineers and technicians, with backgrounds spanning deep tech, robotics, and advanced hardware companies. In 2025 they delivered dozens of residential builds and completed significant infrastructure work, with their robot fleet scaling several times over and continuing to grow through the rest of the year.
