Job summary

Bluebird in Amsterdam is seeking a senior engineer to drive a product area in the Surveying domain, delivering end-to-end solutions from concept to production. You will modernise a complex .NET landscape and push for autonomy across teams, with a hands-on approach to Azure deployments and AI-assisted development.

You bring 10+ years in production software, deep .NET expertise, and a proven track record of owning outcomes, influencing engineers, and reducing system complexity in large-scale

About the role: what will you do here?

• Be the driving force on a product area in the Surveying domain, shaping solutions from concept to delivery
• Evolve the architecture toward simpler, loosely coupled, autonomous systems and cut cross-team dependencies
• Modernise a complex .NET legacy landscape through pragmatic, incremental change
• Champion AI-assisted development for real, from Claude Code in testing and pipelines to raising the bar on how the team builds
• Ship production-grade software in modern .NET on Azure, and stay hands-on
• Set standards, mentor, and lift the whole team through better practices, architecture, and documentation

About you: what experience do you bring?

• 10+ years building production software, deep in modern .NET
• Strong Azure, cloud-native, and distributed systems experience
• A track record of owning outcomes and driving projects, not just executing orders
• Proven legacy modernisation and reducing complexity at scale
• Confident influencing engineers and setting direction across teams, collaborative by default, comfortable in ambiguity
