Job summary

TOPIC in Eindhoven is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in C++, Python, and solving complex technical challenges. You’ll own software solutions, drive architectural decisions, and mentor others while contributing to advanced systems in multidisciplinary environments.

You will design, implement, and verify subsystems, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in an international, agile setting, and help elevate code quality and team processes.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in software development with C++, C, and Python in high-tech environments.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or related field.
• Experience with OO design, UML, unit testing, Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and verify new subsystems, modules, and components.
• Write efficient, maintainable code for driver control, HMI, algorithms or UI apps (C++, C, Python).
• Explore different solution approaches to achieve best results.
• Mentor junior engineers and elevate team quality and processes.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in an international, multidisciplinary, and Agile environment.

What will you do?

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll lead the design, implementation, and verification of software components across a wide range of applications, from driver control and algorithm development to UI and human-machine interfaces. You’ll explore innovative solution approaches, ensure code quality and maintainability, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. By sharing your expertise and mentoring junior engineers, you’ll help drive technical excellence and elevate our software standards.

Your responsibilities

• Design, implement, and verify new subsystems, modules, and components
• Write efficient and maintainable code (C++, C, Python) for various features such as driver control software, human-machine interfaces, algorithm implementation, and/or UI application development
• Explore different solution approaches to achieve the best results
• Share your expertise to elevate the team, quality, and processes
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in an international, multidisciplinary, and agile environment
• Review code and mentor (junior) engineers

What do you bring?

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field
• At least 5 years of experience in software development with C++, C, and Python in the high-tech domain
• Experience with O.O., UML, Unit testing, Agile and design principles
• You are a team player, solution-oriented, and proactive
• Motivation to continuously improve yourself and develop new skills
• A good command of English, and preferably Dutch
