Job summary

Pharming Group in the Netherlands is seeking a Senior Scientist – DP/FP for small molecules to lead development, scale-up, validation, and transfer of drug product processes, and to design primary and secondary packaging for final products.

You will collaborate with CMOs, drive GMP-compliant DP/FP programs from clinical through commercialization, mentor junior staff, and contribute to regulatory documentation (CMC sections). This is a hands-on, cross-functional role with impact on patient care.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of pharma/biotech experience, with 5+ years in small molecule DP/FP development.
• Proven experience managing CMOs and external collaborations across clinical and commercial manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP and global regulatory guidelines (EMA, FDA, ICH).
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, scale-up, validation, and transfer of DP/FP processes for small molecules.
• Design primary and secondary packaging for final product forms.
• Manage external CMOs for development, manufacturing, and validation of batches.
• Represent DP/FP in cross-functional CMC teams and regulatory interactions.
• Write development and regulatory documentation and mentor junior scientists.
