Job summary

Flynn is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join project teams in the Netherlands. You will manage multiple projects, maximize commercial returns, and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring cost control and timely delivery.

You will lead commercial planning, review tender documentation for risks and potential gains, approve contractors, manage subcontracts, and provide contractual guidance to meet project objectives and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent recognised by SCSI/RICS
• 5+ years' quantity surveying experience
• Strong client relationships and ability to leverage repeat business
• In-depth knowledge of contract forms (RIAI, FIDIC, JCT)
• Demonstrates commercial acumen with market awareness
• Negotiation skills and ability to resolve conflicts
• Attention to detail and client/PQS relationship skills

Responsibilities

• Track project deliverables and ensure commercial systems and cost control procedures are used
• Lead commercial planning and monitor project delivery
• Review tender documents to identify risks or potential gains
• Review and approve selected contractors/suppliers
• Ensure contractual correspondence aligns with terms and handles EOT and claims
• Monitor project to stay on time and within budget
• Define project scope, goals and deliverables
• Report on costs vs estimates and address variances
• Present progress reports and propose solutions
• Provide contractual advice to ensure client objectives are met
• Ensure subcontracts reflect agreed scope and are well managed
• Ensure project team understands contractual arrangements
