Job summary

BlockTech in Amsterdam is seeking a Quantitative Trader to own and optimize our automated trading systems across crypto derivatives and spot markets. You will shape desk direction, manage live risk, and push innovative strategies in collaboration with researchers and engineers.

The role requires a strong quantitative background, 3+ years of trading experience, and Python proficiency. On-site Amsterdam with visa sponsorship and relocation support for international hires.

Qualifications

• Strong academic background in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, statistics, or computer science.
• 3+ years of quantitative trading experience.
• Proficiency in Python, with excellent numerical and algorithmic skills.
• Focus and sound judgment behind the screen when markets get busy.
• Experience at a proprietary trading firm or hedge fund, particularly with mid-frequency strategies.

Responsibilities

• Own the systems that trade our capital, from day-to-day operation to the strategies that come next.
• Monitor, operate, and tune automated trading systems in live markets.
• Manage positions and risk, adjusting pricing and parameters as market behaviour shifts.
• Bring new ideas to the desk, drawing on previous experience.
• Develop and deploy new strategies with quantitative researchers and engineers.
• Identify and research new business opportunities as markets change.
