Role Summary

The Senior Quality Manager for Data Centres is responsible for overseeing and driving all quality assurance and quality control activities across Multiple projects within EDC Business Unit.

Operating under the direction of the BU Quality Lead, this role provides advanced technical oversight, coordinates project quality teams, and ensures consistent application of quality standards, procedures, and controls throughout the project lifecycle from design and procurement to installation and handover.

This role works closely with Project Quality Managers, Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, and Supply Chain teams to ensure that the assigned projects activities align with ISO 9001:2015, Mercury QMS requirements, client specifications and industry best practices. The role plays a key part in risk identification, cross‑project performance monitoring, strengthening commissioning readiness, and driving continuous improvement.

The Senior Quality Manager supports Supply chain onboarding, provides training to quality and operations teams, conducts project audits, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions, and ensures quality documentation is standardized and controlled across all assigned projects.

This is a multi‑site role that requires regular engagement with multiple project teams, helping to elevate performance, reduce defects, enhance delivery certainty, and support the overall quality objectives of the Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities Of The Role
  • Lead and maintain the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and Mercury QMS for the assigned projects, ensuring compliance, continuous improvement, and alignment with organizational and client requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network throughout the assigned projects and its cross-functions, communicating widely and appropriately, to build a positive Quality culture.
  • Monitor the assigned projects adherence to QMS requirements and provide corrective guidance to projects quality teams to ensure compliance and continual improvement.
  • Develop and implement contingency, improvement, and action plans to address emerging risks and opportunities.
  • Deliver training programs for quality teams, operations staff, and supply chain partners to ensure that all stakeholders understand and correctly implement quality procedures, tools, and expectations.
  • Collaborate with the client to ensure their quality standards and requirements are considered and implemented within the agreed timelines.
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and client‑specific requirements.
  • Track audit findings, non‑conformances, and recurring issues across projects, and support teams in implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide quality guidance to project management to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee all quality aspects of the assigned projects start‑up, including documentation, controls, and compliance planning.
  • Provide quality input during the tender phase by reviewing requirements, identifying risks, and defining quality strategies.
  • Manage the end‑to‑end document and record handover process by ensuring that all project documentation, quality records, and compliance‑related files are accurately compiled, reviewed, and transferred to the client or relevant stakeholders in accordance with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and internal procedures, while maintaining traceability, version control, and proper archiving protocols.
  • Lead regular quality meetings with the client, operations, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely decision‑making.
  • Support supplier quality evaluations, audits, and corrective actions, ensuring that critical materials and components meet required standards.
  • Participate in offsite audits, factory visits, and FWT activities to ensure supplier deliverables meet contractual and regulatory quality requirements.
  • Oversee consistency and accuracy in project quality documentation, including inspection records, quality plans, ITPs, Benchmarks, and handover documentation.
  • Responsible for analysing non‑conformances and actively contributing to the development, implementation, and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actions to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify cross‑project improvement opportunities based on performance trends, lessons learned, audit findings, and regulatory updates.
  • Utilise software management systems such as SAP, Eida, Procore, ACC and BIM 360 to efficiently execute quality‑related duties, including documentation control, issue tracking, inspection management, and project coordination, ensuring data accuracy, real‑time collaboration, and compliance with project and organisational standards.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis as needed and ensure corrective actions are documented, implemented, and monitored.
  • Collaborate with commissioning teams to ensure that quality requirements—inspections, testing, documentation, and verification steps—are properly met before handover.
  • Provide technical guidance on resolving quality‑related issues impacting commissioning readiness.
Essential Criteria For The Role
  • 5 years in a similar role, managing multiple projects.
  • 10+ years Quality experience in construction/engineering/petrochemical and / or within a multinational manufacturing.
  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in Engineering, equivalent to BSc, in engineering (CSA, Electrical or Mechanical).
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.
  • Negotiation, presenting and Influencing skills, Train the Trainer skillset.
  • High ability to develop, read and interpret QMS documents such Plans, Procedures (SOPs), Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Excellent communication skills, organisational and planning skills.
  • Excellent work and personal ethics that include trustworthiness, commitment, and empathy.
  • Confident, creative, and energetic approach to addressing all quality‑related issues.
Desirable Criteria
  • Desirable to be a chartered member of CQI, IEI, CIOB or other construction related institute or in the process of achieving that level.
  • Six Sigma Green or higher Belt.
  • PMP certificate by PMI.
