Job summary

Rentman is seeking an interim Senior QA Specialist in Utrecht to own test strategy across three product teams, transitioning regression testing to an automated, shift-left E2E suite. The role ends when the assignment completes.

You will write Gherkin specs, test features on staging, and oversee Playwright tests in a TypeScript frontend repository, while coaching developers to own tests and improve quality across releases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years working as QA on web applications.
• At least 2 years writing and maintaining UI test automation (Playwright, Cypress or Selenium) in code.
• Strong manual and exploratory testing with clear bug reports.
• Defined test strategy covering automation vs manual testing and coverage.
• Experience running automated tests in CI (GitHub Actions or similar).
• Ability to coach developers to own tests through pairing and clear specs.

Responsibilities

• Write Gherkin acceptance specs with product teams.
• Test new features on staging and identify edge cases; file reproducible bugs in Jira.
• Write and review Playwright tests and review PR tests.
• Monitor automated regression in CI, triage failures and fix flaky tests.
• Run release-day regression and OWASP ZAP security scans; provide go/no-go calls.
• Migrate legacy tests and decide what to automate vs keep manual.
• Organise QA days across teams and coach developers to own tests.
