Job summary

BUX in Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer (Event Streaming) to validate the correctness, reliability, and resilience of our Kafka-based systems. You will design and execute tests for producers, consumers, and event flows, and collaborate with Backend, DevOps, and Product to ensure quality in our fintech platform.

The role requires 5–7+ years in QA for distributed systems, strong API testing skills, and hands-on automation with Selenium and Playwright (TypeScript).

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years in software quality assurance, fintech focus.
• Hands-on testing with Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms.
• Strong API testing skills for REST and microservices.
• Experience with Selenium and Playwright in TypeScript.
• Proficiency in Java or Kotlin and CI/CD familiarity.
• Knowledge of test automation and QA processes for event-driven systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain tests for Kafka producers, consumers, and event flows.
• Execute manual and exploratory testing where automation is not feasible.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Help build QA processes and standards for event-driven systems.
• Apply quality gates with Product/Dev teams.
• Monitor quality metrics and test coverage for the streaming domain.
