Job summary

ThoughtLabs Belgium is seeking a seasoned software engineer to design and optimize data-driven web solutions, ETL pipelines, and scalable BI reporting.

In the role you will use Python, Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, and Power BI, while automating tasks with VBA and building secure, well-documented code.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure robust data governance, and contribute to multi-language, international projects in English.

Qualifications

University degree in IT or related field with strong software development background.
At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSIS, performance tuning).
Proficiency in Python for web development, data manipulation, automation, and ETL tasks.
Proficiency with VBA (Excel/Access) for automation and data handling.
Strong knowledge of full-stack development, data modeling, and reporting.
Hands-on experience with Power BI for data visualization and analytics.
Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Docker; Kubernetes is a plus.
Knowledge of .NET (C#) and ASP.NET Core is an asset.
Experience with Linux shell and basic Linux concepts is a plus.
Experience with Elasticsearch for indexing and querying large datasets.
Excellent command of English.
