Job summary

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam seeks a Project Manager to join the Grants Office, supporting researchers across EU and national grants. You will help manage large, multi-partner projects, ensuring timely reporting and alignment with funders.

You join a matrix team of project managers, grants advisors, and controllers to deliver results. You will coordinate PIs, funders, and departments, monitor budgets, and manage risks while ensuring compliance and high-quality communications.

Qualifications

• Academic mindset with knowledge of project management methods.
• Coaching-style communication and motivation of researchers.
• Experience coordinating academic consortia and internal support functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage administrative processes across multiple projects, ensuring timely reporting and compliance.
• Lead operational, administrative, financial, and managerial coordination for PIs.
• Liaise with consortium partners and funders' Officers on progress reporting.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for project and consortium meetings.
• Mitigate project risks by monitoring funding and consortium agreements.
• Maximise use of the project budget with Project Control and Finance teams.
• Coordinate support from Legal, Finance, HR, Ethics, and Business Development.
