Job summary

Getinge in Delft, NL is seeking a Senior Project Calculator to lead the costing and design of custom bioprocess solutions. You translate customer requirements and technical concepts into accurate cost calculations and commercially viable proposals, acting as a bridge between Sales, Engineering, Purchasing and Project Management.

You will analyze specifications, develop detailed estimates, and support contract reviews while ensuring proposals are technically feasible and financially competitive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Process, or Industrial Engineering.
• Experience setting up cost calculations for custom-engineered hardware in technical/manufacturing environments.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret technical documentation and specifications while balancing business needs.
• Commercial awareness balancing customer needs with business objectives.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Experience in Life Sciences, Bioprocessing, Pharmaceutical, or regulated industries is an advantage.

Lead the Costing & Design of Custom Bioprocess Solutions

As a Project Calculator, you are responsible for translating customer requirements, project specifications, and technical concepts into accurate cost calculations and commercially viable project proposals.

In this role, you act as a key link between Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Project Management. You combine technical understanding with a commercial mindset to ensure customer-specific solutions are both technically feasible and financially competitive.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and project teams, you play an important role in supporting successful project execution while helping the organization deliver innovative solutions that create value for customers.

You have the ability to analyze complex customer requirements and translate them into clear project calculations and technical proposals. With your broad understanding of engineering principles, project economics, and customer expectations, you are able to identify risks, opportunities, and cost drivers within a project.

By providing accurate calculations and technical insights, you bridge the gap between commercial opportunities and project execution. In doing so, you help ensure projects are delivered successfully, on budget, and in line with customer expectations.

What will you do?

Knowledge, skills and experience

• Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in setting up cost calculations for non-standard, custom-engineered hardware within a technical or regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documentation and specifications.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer needs with business objectives.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a structured way of working.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
• Experience within Life Sciences, Bioprocessing, Pharmaceutical, or regulated industries is considered an advantage.
