Job summary

Koninklijke Vopak N.V. seeks a seasoned Sr Project Manager for a flagship 100 MW+ Battery Energy Storage System project in the Netherlands. You will lead an integrated team across engineering, contracts, and procurement, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget are met with strong stakeholder communication.

The role requires 10+ years in energy or infrastructure CapEx, with a track record on large multi-contract projects. English fluency is essential; travel between sites and offices is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of project management experience in energy, infrastructure, or industrial CapEx projects.
• End responsibility for construction of a EUR 100 million+ project.
• Experience with battery storage, high-voltage or grid infrastructure, or renewable energy is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the project team, including Work Package Project Managers, and foster ownership, openness, and safety.
• Own the overall project baseline: integrated schedule, budget, contingency, and forecast.
• Steer on critical path and cost at completion; decide on changes within your mandate.
• Manage interfaces between work packages and contractors to resolve gaps, overlaps and risks at project level.
• Carry end responsibility for HSE and quality, ensuring permits, grid connection, and contractual obligations are met.
• Escalate issues with the contracts manager; lead major variations and claims.
• Report to management and investors on progress, risks and key decisions.
• Deliver commissioning and handover to operations; translate lessons learned into delivery standards.
