Job summary

Fortary Platform, based in the Netherlands, seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead custody platform development, advancing distributed MPC infrastructure and secure key-management. You will guide architecture and roadmap, collaborating with product, security, and executives to align technology with regulatory needs.

You will drive engineering practices, incident response, and leadership development, shaping a security-first engineering culture at scale in the Web3‑finance space.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with leadership of production-scale distributed systems.
• Proven ownership of large-scale, security-critical platforms from design to operation.
• Deep expertise in modern cryptography and secure key-management technologies (MPC, threshold signatures, TEEs, HSMs).
• Experience designing and operating cloud-native systems including Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, observability, and resilient infra.
• Strong security/compliance knowledge for regulated financial services (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, AML/KYC).
• Experience spanning custody, trading, staking, treasury management, and blockchain settlement.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple engineering teams delivering custody, transaction authorization, key management, wallets, and blockchain integration capabilities.
• Own the architecture, technical strategy, and roadmap for a distributed MPC custody platform with disaster recovery and security controls.
• Partner with Product, Security, BD, and execs to prioritize investments based on customer, regulatory, security, and business needs.
• Support multiple product deployment models including managed-platform and licensed-software environments.
• Establish engineering practices meeting strict security, compliance, resilience, and governance requirements.
