Wellis Health in Rotterdam is hiring a backend engineer to own the API layer and data model for our health‑tech platform serving pharmacists and patients.

You’ll work with TypeScript across web, mobile, and backend, ensuring strict API contracts, migrations, and robust data integrity in a medical context.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong Node/TypeScript experience; able to work across languages.

Responsibilities

• The core API layer: redesign internal Node/TypeScript API serving web and mobile with schema-first design and versioning.
• The data layer: manage schemas for patient management, clinical data, prescriptions, providers, and devices with migrations and indexing.
• Business logic: implement prescription workflows, patient lifecycle, and clinical rules.
• Agentic tooling: build and maintain AI-powered plugins and workflows.
• Integration touchpoints: data flows with billing, logistics, ERP, and a Dutch pharmacy system.
