Job summary

Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) seeks a senior analytics professional to deliver performance measurement, attribution analysis and investment analytics. You will partner with portfolio managers to provide insightful analysis, enhance reporting capabilities, and drive data-led transformation with scalable solutions across EMEA.

The role emphasizes collaboration, automation, and the development of reporting tools using Python, R, SQL, Power BI or similar technologies.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
• 7+ years in financial services with direct experience in performance measurement, attribution, analytics, or risk analytics within asset management.
• Strong understanding of quantitative and active investment strategies, attribution methodologies, and portfolio risk/asset allocation concepts.
• Experience with analytics platforms such as BlackRock Aladdin or FactSet.
• Ability to analyze large datasets and translate findings into insights.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or QlikView.

Responsibilities

• Provide performance measurement and attribution analysis across investment strategies (quantitative and active).
• Analyze returns using Brinson-Fachler and factor-based attribution, including style, sector and security analysis.
• Partner with portfolio management to validate outputs and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Develop and enhance performance measurement, reporting capabilities, and asset allocation reporting.
• Investigate data/process issues, identify root causes, and implement scalable solutions.
• Support digital and data transformation initiatives across EMEA with scalable analytics.
• Contribute to strategic development focusing on automation and efficiency.
