Job summary

Itproposal is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, document, and optimize complex data landscapes across Oracle and related platforms in Amsterdam. You will lead data governance, quality management, and migration design within hybrid and cloud environments.

The role requires Dutch fluency, strong Oracle skills, and experience with data modelling and governance to guide stakeholders on architecture and transformation strategies.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer.
• Fluent in Dutch (speaking, reading, writing).
• Strong hands‑on Oracle DBMS (SQL, PL/SQL, Data Dictionary).
• Expertise in data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical).
• Experience with reverse engineering tools (Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler).
• ETL/ELT experience (Informatica, Talend, DBT).
• Strong knowledge of data governance, data management, and data architecture.
• Experience with complex data migrations and hybrid/cloud environments.
• Understanding of AVG, GDPR, BIO compliance.
• Experience with CI/CD for data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Inventory & Documentation: Map existing systems and databases (Oracle and related platforms).
• Reverse Engineering & Data Modelling: Analyze Oracle schemas and ERDs; identify PK/FK, triggers, packages.
• Data Profiling & Quality Management: Profile source systems; produce data quality reports.
• Governance, Privacy & Compliance: Design data governance models; classify data (AVG, GDPR, BIO).
• Migration & Integration: Define migration strategies; support API-driven integration and ETL/ELT design.
• Architecture & Innovation: Advise on data architecture (Data Vault, Data Mesh); support cloud migration and lakehouse design.
