Job summary

Van Oord is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide specialist maritime and offshore law support across our energy projects from development through operations. You are a qualified lawyer in the UK or another common law jurisdiction, with a Master in Maritime Law and 8–15+ years post-qualification experience, ideally in offshore energy, shipping or marine construction.

You excel in drafting, negotiating and risk allocation.

Qualifications

• 8–15+ years post-qualification experience in maritime/offshore law.
• Experience with charterparties, marine services contracts and offshore vessel operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist legal support across maritime and offshore contracts (time, voyage, bareboat charterparties).
• Draft, review and negotiate offshore construction, transportation and maritime services agreements.
• Advise on risk allocation, vessel operations and weather exposure; support insurance matters with the insurance department.
