Heerema Marine Contractors in Leiden seeks a Principal Engineer - Foundation Engineering to be a technical authority and strategic advisor for offshore foundation technology, leading design, execution, and thought leadership.”

You will collaborate with the foundation discipline team, oversee monopile foundation and installation programs, manage budgets, and represent Heerema in industry forums, traveling offshore as needed.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Civil, Geotechnical, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven monopile foundation, installation, and offshore geotechnical experience.
• Experience managing high-impact technology scopes and development programs.
• Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder communication.
• Fluent in English and able to lead technical content and cross-functional alignment.
• Commitment to technology excellence and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe, validated execution of offshore installation foundations in yards and offshore.
• Provide expert technology advice to management on cross-disciplinary engineering challenges.
• Define and deliver development and innovation initiatives to strengthen our long-term capabilities.
• Manage approved budgets related to engineering scopes and development programs.
• Inform management of technology outcomes and opportunities and represent us in relevant forums.
