Job summary

Avolta in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to help manage global SD-WAN, LAN, and security services across regions. You will work within a multidisciplinary IT team to deliver reliable network services and drive architectural improvements.

The role requires Cisco routing and switching experience, SASE and firewall knowledge, and strong English communication. You will collaborate with airport operations, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain 24x7 availability.

PURPOSEOFTHEROLE

TheSeniorNetworkEngineerreportsdirectlytotheDirectorofITInfrastructureandispartoftheregionalITorganisationbasedatAmsterdamSchipholAirport.TheRegionalITteamworkscloselywithglobalinfrastructureandsupportteamstomanageandsupporttherapidlygrowingbusinessacrosstheregion.Operatingwithinmultidisciplinaryteamsprovidesextensiveopportunitiestodevelopbothdeeptechnicalexpertiseandbroadercross-functionalknowledgeacrossadjacentITdomains.

RESPONSIBILTIES

Manage,supportandoperatenetworkservicedeliverygloballyincluding(SD)WAN,MAN,LANnetworks,switching,routing,wirelessandtheirrelatedsecurityfeatures(SASE)includingbasicfirewallingandaccesscontrollists.

• Manageandoperatenetworkservicesrelatedtickets,incidents,andrequests.
• Manageandoperateoversightover(co-)sourcednetworkservices.
• IPaddressmanagement.
• Networkassetmanagementandlifecyclemanagement.
• MaintainandautomatenetworkdocumentationusedbywholeITcommunity.
• Participateinnetworkdesignsessionsandinnovationsunderarchitecture.
• Maintainanddevelopnetworkstandards,networkbuildingblocksandnetworkdeploymentautomationtofacilitateprojectdeliveries.
• RepresentingthenetworkfunctionisvariouslocalandabroadITprojectsincludingnegotiatingwithairportnetworkserviceproviders.
• Developandmanageeffectiveprofessionalworkingrelationshipswithexternalcontractors,personnel,co-workersandsuppliers(e.g.airportnetworkteams).
• Ensurebusiness(network)continuityofthe24x7systemsandcompanyprocessesanddemonstrateavailabilitythroughtoolingandreporting.
• Adheretoandimplement(security)policiesaspercorporatemanualsanddirectives.
• Create/maintainknowledgearticles,instruction,manualsandproblemresolutionstepsandensuretosupportdelegationofcontrolandshareknowledge.
• Participateinmulti-disciplinaryteamsandactivelysupportcontrolledself-relianceofthevariousteamsinthenetworkdomain.
• Proactively,identifyingopportunitiestoimprovesystemsorprocessesandflagrecurringissues.

KEYQUALIFICATIONS

• ITHigherTechnicalEducation(bachelordegreeorbachelorlevel).
• CiscoCCNPorsimilaractivecertification.
• In-depthKnowledgeandminimum5yearworkingexperienceinRouting,switchingandCISCOASAFirewalls.
• IndepthknowledgeofMicrosoftOfficeproducts(Word,Excel,Visio).
• Strongfunctionalityandanalyticalskills.Capablytoanalyzeandtroubleshootcomplexnetworkproblemsandrequests.
