Job summary

Thorizon is seeking a Senior Fuel Process Engineer to advance the fuel salt supply for the Pioneer demonstrator and the future Thorizon One reactor. You will lead design and scale-up of the fuel salt preparation, from lab validation to pilot deployment, ensuring technical robustness and safety compliance.

You will collaborate with leading European nuclear labs, define process architectures, and produce engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics or closely related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant industrial experience.
• Experience in chemical process development and process engineering.
• Experience with process design, process scale-up or pilot plant development.
• Experience working in highly regulated industrial environments is highly desirable.
• Experience in nuclear facilities, active laboratories or controlled areas would be a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize high-temperature molten salt processes.
• Lead transition from laboratory-scale to pilot-scale fuel salt preparation.
• Coordinate with nuclear laboratories and partners, including NRG.
• Produce process flow diagrams, specifications and engineering calculations.
• Integrate nuclear safety from the early stages of process design.
